The addition of EgoSecure solutions to the Matrix42 Security Portfolio will create a new market leader in Europe
The Frankfurt endpoint management specialist Matrix42 takes over EgoSecure, the German market leader for endpoint security. Both companies have been technology partners for several years, and Matrix42 entered the terminal security market last year. The EgoSecure product portfolio for data encryption, interface and application control and data loss prevention now complete the Matrix42 Endpoint Security Suite. In particular with regard to the EU GDPR, which finally came into force on May 25th 2018, this takeover will decisively influence the European IT security market.
According to Gartner (1), the market for endpoint security will grow by more than 45% to $1.5 billion worldwide by 2020. In particular, the huge increase in malware attacks with corresponding economic damage is driving up the demand for security software. Moreover the EU GDPR will decisively change awareness concerning secure endpoint devices. This is not just the case in Europe, as the much-discussed European regulation now has a powerful influence on the United States.
IT service management and endpoint security will have to grow ever closer together worldwide, and employee productivity and endpoint security must never be in conflict. By combining the solution portfolios of Matrix42 and EgoSecure, an integrated security solution is created that enables 360˚ security management for PCs, laptops, smartphones, tablets and IoT devices. Such a consolidation of higher IT productivity and uncompromising security against attacks on IT is currently unique in the world, providing significant benefits to customers of both companies. And all this under the title “Made in Germany”, which under the influence of the new European Data Protection Regulation will clearly gain in importance.
“A business can be affected by a cybersecurity attack or data theft on a daily basis. Our customers expect simple and safe solutions here. That’s why we integrate EgoSecure into our existing product portfolio. This will create one of the leading European software manufacturers for integrated management and security solutions with German roots,” says Oliver Bendig, CEO of Matrix42.
“As a provider of endpoint security software, we have written a true success story and have grown at double-digit rates every year since 2012. By joining forces with Matrix42, we want to expand our success story even more, “says Sergei Schlotthauer, CEO at EgoSecure.
“We want to focus on the area of content security and expand into markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia,” said Natalya Kaspersky, President of Infowatch Group. “Since acquiring EgoSecure in 2011, we have been able to achieve consistently high growth rates at the company. As a result, EgoSecure has become one of the leading companies in the market. We are proud of this shared track record, and are very satisfied with the outcome of the sale,” says Natalya Kaspersky, explaining the sale of the majority stake.
Sergej Schlotthauer and the entire EgoSecure team with almost 70 employees will become the Center of Excellence for Security at Matrix42. Sergej Schlotthauer takes over the position as VP Security at Matrix42. In this role, he is responsible for the further expansion of the Matrix42 security area.
