EgoSecure Data Protection 11 is now available!

Our new analysis module Insight, which was introduced with the product version 10 last year, received a lot of positive feedback. Thereby EgoSecure Data Protection is the first security solution worldwide which combines the analysis of the data flow and protective measures in one product. Feedback from numerous installations was taken into account for the further optimization of Insight and other modules. All improvements and many new features, such as Inventory, are now available in the new version 11.

Basic protection against Locky ransomware

The Locky ransomware keeps the IT-security world in suspense. Did you know that there is a simple but still effective solution against such kind of ransomware?
Locky installs itself on a computer via e-mail attachments, file downloads, external media or web browsers exploits with malicious files or macros. These usually start another file download, such as Ladybi.exe which encrypts your data after launching. For Locky to complete the encryption, one actually needs to run the applications and processes.
With EgoSecure Application Control it can be easily blocked.

Looking back on RSA, CeBIT and ConhIT

Our event-year 2016 started with the RSA Conference in San Francisco. The RSA is the world’s largest IT-security conference. We were represented again at the German Pavilion, which was built by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in cooperation with the AUMA and TeleTrusT at the Moscone Center. Further information and reviews can be found here.

Only 11 days after the RSA the world’s largest computer fair CeBIT took place in Hannover, and we were represented with our own booth. And it’s surprising who you meet there – just take a look here.

The ConhIT conference in Berlin is focusing on “IT in Healthcare” and gains more and more attention. The area for the exhibitors has been extended significantly this year and a record number of people visited the event. We were represented with our own booth from April 19 – 21, as “Data Security in Healthcare” is becoming of greater importance for hospitals and clinics. Further information and reviews can be found here.

New customer review from Oskar Lehmann GmbH & Co. KG

Here you can read a new customer review on our solution. The Oskar Lehmann Company is a specialist for technical solutions made of plastic:

“EgoSecure is intuitive to administrate, provides low hardware requirements for the system, is based significantly on German law (4 – 6 – eyes – principle), has a modular structure, and reacts, unlike some competitive products, very liberally to configuration changes. The introduction of the software was completed in a few days, with the time required for installation and configuration of the software limited to a few hours.” Read more…

No Spy Statement

The new version of the EVB-IT (additional terms and conditions) now includes a No-Spy directive for hardware procurement in public administrations.
The new conditions are currently applied only to hardware manufacturers, although EgoSecure provides a No-Spy guarantee being a software manufacturer.
According to the new EVB-IT, the service provider must ensure that supplied hardware “is free from functions that jeopardize the integrity, confidentiality and availability of hardware, other hardware and / or software or data, which don’t comply with the confidentiality and security interests of the customer”.

Public administrations are now not allowed to procure hardware without this statement.

Endpoint with Egon!

“Made in Germany” and “German Quality” – is there actually a difference? I as a porcupine don’t drink beer or drive a car, so how would I know which product should have a “Made in Germany” label – bananas? Probably not. Software? Hm – probably not either, but “German Quality” would be very important for me.

You don’t know what the difference is either?

Davor Kolaric from All-About-Security and Sergei Schlotthauer, CEO of EgoSecure, had an interesting phone talk on this topic, which was published on “All about Security” website in German.

Listen to it – it’s worth it!

I say goodbye until next time.
